The government has allocated more than UAH 15m in aid from the UN World Food Programme to purchase equipment for school canteens and catering units in 203 frontline educational institutions.
This was reported by Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi.
According to him, the funds will go to schools in six regions: Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson and Chernihiv.
“This will help improve cooking conditions and the organisation of meals for primary school pupils, particularly in communities near the front line. The funding is fully covered by international assistance and does not require additional spending from the state or local budgets,” Koretskyi added.
