SBU officers have confiscated servers from the collocation centre of the Adamant hosting company, SBU press secretary Olena Hitlyanska has said on Facebook.

She said that the SBU was acting in coordination with foreign law enforcers to investigate an international hacker group.

"One of its members is a Ukrainian national wanted internationally. His server equipment was hosted by the Ukrainian provider Adamant. The hacker group used it to steal money from foreign financial institutions, spread virus-infected software and so on," she said.

She added that the SBU acted lawfully when confiscating the servers for tests.

Adamant owner Ivan Petukhov appeared outraged, saying the SBU had violated the procedures. He told Internet.ua that he would give a news conference to say that the "whole special team of the SBU did not come looking for criminals but for a public activist".
