In August 2016, Ukraine saw the decline in consumer prices (deflation) was recorded at 0.3% over July, the State Statistics Service said in a release on 8 September.
Over the past month, food prices dropped, including vegetable (-10.6%), fruit (-5.1%), clothing (-2.5%) and footwear (-4.5%), while sewer rates (10.3%) and water supply tariffs (8.7%) soared.
The annual inflation (August to August of the previous year) was 8.4%.
In the first eight months of 2016, inflation was 4.5%.
In 2015, prices rose 43.3% in Ukraine.
The official inflation forecast for 2016 is about 12%.
