During his visit to the US, Petro Poroshenko will meet with US President Donald Trump in New York, Radio Liberty reported with a reference to the press office of the White House.
"The meeting of presidents of the USA and Ukraine is scheduled for 10:30 am New York time (17:30 Kyiv time). Its duration will be one hour," the White House said.
The presidents will meet in New York Lotte New York Palace Hotel. Before that Trump will hold talks with Afghan President Ashraf Ghana.
After a conversation with Poroshenko the US President is planned to attend an event with the participation of the president of South Korea and Japan's prime minister, and meet with the president of Turkey.
In his address at the UN General Assembly, Trump recalled about Ukraine and the threat to its sovereignty. He stressed that "it is necessary to reject the threat of sovereignty – from the Ukraine to the South China Sea."
Earlier, the US Senate approved the allocation of Ukraine $ 500 mn in aid and lethal defensive weapons.
