Two Ukrainian border guards have gone missing on the border with Russia in Sumy Region, the State Border Service of Ukraine reported on Wednesday, 4 October.
The Znob-Novhorodske border guard unit of the Sumy detachment lost contact with its two servicemen as they were observing one of the border sectors on Tuesday night.
The agency said in a separate report that the search for the missing border guards was underway.
In the meantime, the Russian media reported on Wednesday the detention of two alleged violators of the Russian border. The media reported citing the Federal Security Service (FSB) that "border violators introduced themselves as servicemen of the Sumy border detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine."
