Three Ukrainian servicemen were wounded on 5 June as pro-Russian militants carried out 31 attacks, the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) HQ has said.

"Active defence put up by JFO units did not allow the enemy to advance towards our defensive lines. According to intelligence, two occupiers were killed and four wounded," it said.

Intensive engagements were registered in certain areas, including near Prychepylivka, Krymske and Novotoshkivske in the Luhansk sector, Opytne and Novotroyitske in the Donetsk sector.

The Russian occupying troops used 120-mm and 82-mm mortars banned by the Minsk agreements 11 times.

Engagements involving the use of small arms continued near Lebedynske and Shyrokyne close to Mariupol.

Earlier, OSCE observers spotted militants' heavy arms outside their storage areas. Ukrainian servicemen consider this redeployment as a preparation for shooting attacks.
