Two Ukrainian servicemen were killed and two wounded in Donbas on 28 July, the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) HQ press centre has said.

A separatist sabotage and reconnaissance team consisting of up to 15 militants attempted to seize the positions of a Ukrainian army unit in Krymske, Luhansk Region.

Ukrainian servicemen at an observation point engaged the attackers four times their strength and held until a reserve team led by a company commander arrived.

The enemy retreated under artillery cover but was intercepted by mortar fire of the Joint Forces.

Four militants were killed and six wounded.

In other areas, the occupiers opened targeted fire from grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms near Avdiyivka, Pavlopil and Lebedynske.

On 27 July, one Ukrainian serviceman was killed amid 34 separatist attacks.
