Kateryna Handzyuk, an adviser to the Kherson mayor, acting head of affairs at the city council and well-known local activist, was attacked this morning, local police have said.
When she walked out of her house at around 8.30 a.m., a man aged 20-25 walked out of the bush holding a bottle. He splashed the liquid from the bottle at her face and ran away.
Police said that, according to preliminary information, it was an acid.
Handzyuk was hospitalized.

Police have published the suspect's photo. The search is underway.
