Russian border guards have confiscated 11 bullets to a US carbine from a Ukrainian national who arrived in Russia-annexed Crimea, TASS has reported, quoting the press service of the regional border directorate of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB).
"The mentioned objects (11 5.56 cartridges to a Weatherby carbine) were in a backpack among the personal belongings of a Melitopol resident. He did not report the ammunition when he was crossing the state border," it said.
The incident happened at the Dzhankoy checkpoint last week but the FSB only reported it on 31 July.
The bullets were sent for examination. Border guards said they did not detain the Ukrainian.
