Ex-finance minister to head Ukraine's security council – source

He was in charge of foreign affairs, finance, economy and banking in Zelenskyy's team.

Former Finance Minister Oleksandr Danylyuk will be appointed secretary of the National Security and Defence Council, LB.ua has learnt from its sources.

He was in charge of foreign affairs, finance, economy and banking in presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelenskyy's team. He was also an adviser to Zelenskyy.

The decree on his appointment has not been published yet.

Earlier, he was rumoured to become foreign minister.

Danylyuk headed the Finance Ministry in 2016-2018. He resigned because of disagreements with Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman over the State Fiscal Service. In his departure speech, Danylyuk accused the government of corruption and covering each other's backs.
