President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed Mykola Kuleshov head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) department for counterintelligence defence in information protection.

Col Kuleshov was the acting head of the department from July to November 2015. He has held various posts in the SBU's central office since 1995. In May-June 2014, he took part in the antiterrorist operation in Donbas. He also initiated the creation of the Situational Cyber Security Support Centre at the SBU.
