Crime
An attacker who shot at the Range Rover of Kyiv councilor Vyacheslav Sobolev in central Kyiv on 1 December killed his 3-year-old son. Sobolev used to own a supermarket chain in Donbas.
Two individuals blew up an ATM of the state-owned bank Ukrsotsbank in Kyiv's Rusanivka neighbourhood on 30 November. The explosion was so strong that it nearly ruined the bank office. The robbers stole around 250,000 hryvnyas (about 10,000 dollars) while the damage they caused runs into millions. Both suspects, a Ukrainian and a foreigner, were detained a day later.
Oleksandr Vlashchenko, a journalist with the Mykolayiv news website Novosti-N, was attacked on 30 November. Someone sprayed gas and hit him in the face. It is not the first attack on the journalist, the website said.
Donbas
Two Ukrainian servicemen got killed in combat in Donbas as an enemy sabotage and reconnaissance team attempted to sneak into the rear of the Joint Forces. The servicemen were trying to cut the team's exit when they tripped on an unknown explosive device.
Census
A 10-day test electronic census took off in Ukraine on 1 December. It will be held in Kyiv's Obolonskyy district and in the Piskivka united territorial community of Borodyanka District in Kyiv Region.
