Ukraine's embassy in China has advised Ukrainians to leave China due to the outbreak of the 2019-nCoV coronavirus.

"Due to the rapid spread of the disease caused by a new type of coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in China, the embassy of Ukraine in China strongly recommends that Ukrainian citizens who are in China leave this country if there is an opportunity," the embassy said on its Facebook page.

Diplomats are closely monitoring the virus situation and are in contact with the Chinese authorities.

They are now checking options of how to help Ukrainians in the quarantined province of Hubei.

"Among other things, the possibility of their evacuation is being studied in case the leadership of our state decides so," the embassy added.

On 28 January, the National Security and Defence Council instructed the Finance Ministry to fund the provision of hospitals with the necessary medicines and equipment.

The Ukrainian airline SkyUp will suspend flights to China from February and the tour operator JoinUp will bring back its tourists from the Chinese island of Hainan on 29 January and 1 February .
