A 71-year-old woman from Zhytomyr Region who was hospitalized on 12 March with a laboratory-confirmed case of COVID-19 died today, an adviser to the health minister, infectious diseases specialist Olha Holubovska has said on Facebook.
"Unfortunately, the first death from COVID19... Zhytomyr Region," she said.
Close relatives she lived with and persons she contacted are under the supervision of doctors. The Health Ministry noted that the woman was in a group risk.
This leaves Ukraine with two confirmed cases of coronavirus.
