Kyiv's Pecherskyy district court has ordered state-owned Privatbank to pay over $200m to offshore companies affiliated with the Surkis brothers, Novoye Vremya has reported, quoting the court ruling.

The website learnt from the court register that on 25 February 2020, judge Pidpalyy, while deciding on the clarification of the decision on securing the lawsuit of the Surkis offshore companies whose consideration was stopped in 2017, actually made a decision by which he Privatbank ordered to pay out the funds to these companies which they placed on the accounts of the Cyprus branch of Privatbank back in 2012-2014, as well as interest which under the terms of such agreements should have been accrued from the moment of the conclusion of the deposit agreement until 17 February 2020, which is more than $200m.

Privatbank said that they would file an appeal.
