A 68-year-old man, resident of Monastyryska District in Ternopil Region, died from coronavirus, according to the local authorities and the Health Ministry.
He died in the infectious diseases ward of the Ternopil emergency care hospital.
According to Deputy Interior Minister Anton Herashchenko, the man could contract the infection from a priest during a funeral in the village of Shveykiv on 9 March.
The priest is currently in an intensive care unit in Ternopil, his condition is grave and he is on a lung ventilator.
