Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has announced the introduction of a nationwide emergency situation and extended the quarantine by 30 days until 24 April.
"As of 10 a.m., there were 113 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in 13 regions and Kyiv. Statistics show that, unfortunately, the situation continues to worsen. Therefore, today the Cabinet of Ministers will consider the introduction of an emergency situation throughout Ukraine as well as the switch of the Single State System of Civil Protection to the emergency situation mode," Shmyhal said.
The emergency situation regime is planned to be introduced for 30 days until 24 April. All quarantine measures are extended for the same period.
"I would like you not to confuse an emergency situation and a state of emergency. An emergency situation does not limit the constitutional rights of citizens but consolidates efforts to fight the threat," he said.
