Lavrov can't come to the UN session in Geneva because of sanctions, European Pravda reports, referring to the "Russia-1" channel. Due to the EU ban for Russian airplanes to enter EU airspace. Lavrov wanted to arrive in Geneva with the Russian government plane.
Official representative of Russia Foreign Office Mariia Zakharova complained that she needed to prepare additional paperwork so Lavrov could visit the UN session during the broadcast on Russian television.
"Some nonsense! What documents, what rules, what instructions? What is it about?" - said, Zakharova.
So, Russia refused to comply with the sanctions. At the same time, without fulfilling them, Lavrov cannot attend the UN meeting.
Earlier, Russian officials did not plan to participate in the Munich Security Conference this year.
