Residents of Kupiansk (Kharkiv oblast), which local authorities have surrendered to the Russian occupiers, came out on the streets to demand that Russian soldiers get out of the town. People came out with Ukrainian flags and started shouting, “Kupiansk is Ukraine.” The Russian army is trying to disperse them.

According to “Segodnya” media, in Kupiansk, people threw themselves with their bare hands at a car with Russian soldiers, which they took from civilians.

The mayor of Kupiansk, Hennadiy Matsehora, received suspicion of treason. On February 27, he entered the negotiations with the Russian military and surrendered the town to them. Mayor provided invaders with transport, housing, gas, and food. He was detained by the Ukrainian forces.
