In a video address on Wednesday, President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated that some Ukrainian politicians are "looking for threads" to Russia, working to divide society.
"We are receiving various signals that some politicians are looking for threads to Russia again. Some others are working on splitting the society again, despite our unity," he said. "We are already receiving many signals that some politicians in Ukraine have decided that they may not fight anymore together with everyone. And they are trying to fight somehow separately, for something personal, for some personal benefit."
"I want to say one thing and only once: I see what you are doing. If I hear another signal, the response will be quick as it should be in wartime," Zelenskyy said.
On 4 March, territorial defence fighters of the capital detained the People's Deputy Nestor Shufrych. According to Oleksandr Pohrebyskyy, the Kyiv City Council deputy, this happened during the People's Deputy's attempt to photograph the checkpoint. The pro-Russian MP said he was taking a selfie but was later released.
