Russian journalists tried to get comments from Zaporizhia nuclear power plant staff.

They were told to follow the "Russian wasship" - the head of Energoatom

Russian journalists tried to get comments from Zaporizhia nuclear power plant staff.

Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant has been under the control of the occupiers for five days.

The head of National Nuclear Energy Generating Company (NNEGC) "Energoatom" Petro Kotin recorded a video message about the situation at the Zaporozhzhya nuclear power plant seized by Russian invaders. ZNPP and its satellite city Energodar have already been under control of the occupiers for five days.

According to Kotin, as of the morning of March 9, there are 50 units of heavy military equipment, about 400 Russian soldiers, a lot of explosives and weapons on the territory of the nuclear power plant.

"Although our staff works at all six power units, the management of the station is forced to coordinate all technical issues with the occupiers. The staff is under strong psychological pressure from the occupiers, who have expected the station staff to give them with a warm welcome. However, our people resist, refuse to cooperate with the occupiers," - the head of Energoatom said.

"This was especially evident when the Russian propagandist journalists, who had been brought to ZNPP the day before, tried to get comments from the station's staff. Instead, they were told to follow the Russian warship," - he added.

The head of NNEGC Energoatom stressed that all of this violates nuclear and radiation safety. ZNPP has 7 nuclear installations. All of them contain a lot of radioactive materials, especially nuclear fuel.

The actions of the occupiers could lead to a nuclear or radiation accident with unpredictable consequences. Kotin stressed that due to shelling by the Russian military, the sixth power unit was put into repair, and two high-voltage power lines are still out of order.

In addition, Energodar is running out of groceries. They will be enough in stores only for a day.

The head of Energoatom refuted the fakes spread by the Russian invaders, claiming that the Ukrainian army weapons had been stored at the ZNPP.

"If these weapons were really here, the occupiers would never have captured the station. Instead, they filmed their own weapons and showed the world the crimes of the Russian military, their nuclear terrorism,” - Petro Kotin said.
