The Chief Prosecutor of the European Union Laura Codruţa Kövesi came to support us in Ukraine.

This was announced by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Iryna Venediktova.

Kövesi is the first EU official to visit our country during a difficult war.

“The interaction of the EU Prosecutor's Office with the task force of the Office of the Prosecutor General to search for, arrest and confiscate the assets of war criminals was discussed. We need to find everything that belongs to those who launch rockets at our home and support the massacre of civilians. Their property will be used to rebuild the state and compensate for the losses of every Ukrainian," – Venediktova said.

According to the Prosecutor General, the Ukrainian prosecutor's office received unquestionable support from Kövesi. "From the first day, she offered us help and joint efforts to repel Russian aggression. The EU Chief Prosecutor sincerely believes that Ukraine is now a fortress of Europe, ” – Venediktov said.

In addition, a Working Agreement on Cooperation between the Office of the Attorney General and the European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO) was signed today. Ukraine is the first country with which the EU Prosecutor's Office has signed such a document.

The Chief Prosecutor of the European Union also brought a letter of support to Ukrainian prosecutors from their colleagues in EPPO.

Earlier, the Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki, who, despite the hostilities, visited Kyiv with the Prime Ministers of the Czech Republic and Slovenia, called on other European leaders to follow their example.
