Agrarians from Odesa began planting spring barley.
Chief agronomist of State enterprise "Syvorov research agricultural institution" Serhii Kylynych reported it, as SuperAgronom.com informs.
The soil in the farm fields warmed up enough, it was possible to enter the area a little earlier. Still, due to the situation in the country, specific organizational issues prevented it. But now, the fieldwork is in full swing.
"Everyone in our country now has one problem - war. But because there is no fighting in the Odesa region, despite the common problems, we go out into the field, work, sow, apply fertilizers," says the farmer.
According to him, winter cereals were nourished for the second time already. First, spreaders applied ammonium nitrate, and now they use Carbamide-ammonium mixture (UAN). The farm managed to stock up on diesel fuel for these works. We will have to think about resolving this issue in the future. The weather conditions give Ukrainian farmers side play to prepare for the sowing campaign.
Agroanalysts predict that more than 700 million people in the world will suffer because of the Russian war against Ukraine.
Ukraine has enough food supplies for domestic consumption, though.
