Another session of the Administrative Council of the International Labour Organisation adopted a draft of a resolution which condemns the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and temporarily suspends its technical cooperation with Russia.
This has been reported by the Ministry for Development of Economy and Trade of Ukraine.
The ILO will not resume its cooperation with Russia until the ceasefire is agreed and a peaceful solution is achieved.
The resolution has been supported by forty-two out of fifty-two participants of the administrative council session.
“Also, the invitation to the Russian Federation to take part in all technical and expert meetings, conferences, and seminars is being suspended,” the Ministry of Economy notes.
The International Labour Organisation has addressed its member countries and urged them to protect and ensure the labour rights and safe environment for everyone who has left Ukraine.
As a reminder, at the beginning of March the Ministry of Economy addressed the ILO with a request to stop Russia’s and Belarus’s membership in the organisation.
