The Prosecutor General of Ukraine Iryna Venediktova announced that she had pressed charges of the former People's Deputy from the party “Opposition Platform — For Life” (OPFL) Ilya Kyva.

"The offenses he is accused of - making public calls for violent change and overthrow of the constitutional order and seizure of state power by a person representing the government, using the media (Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine), calls for aggressive war (Article 436 the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine) ", - Venediktova wrote on Facebook.

The Office of the Prosecutor General reported that according to the investigation, "as a People's Deputy of Ukraine, in March 2022, while in the Russian Federation in Moscow, he spoke live on federal television. During his speech, the suspect publicly called on the top leadership of the Russian Federation to the forcible change of the constitutional order and the seizure of state power in Ukraine through the physical removal of the President of Ukraine and other high-ranking officials of Ukraine, and to an aggressive war. "

Iryna Venediktova stressed that "prosecutors are making tremendous efforts to detain the former people’s deputy. It turned out to be not so easy."

Venediktova also noted that the Office of the Prosecutor General has reason to claim that Kнva uses other documents than those known to investigators and prosecutors. "But we will definitely bring him to justice," the Prosecutor General added.
