During March, law enforcers conducted searches at several addresses related to the Former Head of the Main Department of the Internal Security of the Security Service of Ukraine, Andrii Naumov. This is reported by journalists of the "Schemes."
Naumov went abroad a few hours before the full-scale invasion of the Russian army in Ukraine on February 24, reported investigators with reference to the evidence of independent from each other sources among law enforcement officers.
"Andrii Naumov is a person involved in a number of journalistic investigations on smuggling imports and corruption schemes at customs. He was involved in the investigation into the acquisition of elite property, not comparable to the official revenues of the civil servant. Before the full-scale invasion of the Russian army, Andrii Naumov, accompanied by several people, left Ukraine on February 23. His family left earlier," - said in the message.
Searches were conducted at several addresses, including those discussed in the journalistic investigation - in an apartment in Alter Ego residential complex in the center of Kyiv and Hrebinka village not far from the capital.
"During the searches, it was found that Andrii Naumov's real estate was guarded by SSU employees. Probably, this protection is provided within the framework of criminal proceedings from 2021 regarding the possible preparation of the attempted murder of Naumov. The experts called this case "internal struggle" within the service," - the investigators write.
Andrii Naumov came to the SSU shortly after Ivan Bakanov headed the service in 2019. In October 2020, the "Schemes" found and showed numerous elite property registered on the Naumov family. At the end of July 2021, Naumov vacated the position, but, according to journalists, did not lose his influence.
