Deputies want to oblige the foreign companies still working in the russia to pay bigger taxes in Ukraine, - Zheleznyak

The Verkhovna Rada has registered a bill that would oblige foreign companies that are still working in russia to pay bigger taxes in Ukraine.

This was reported by the deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

“If you finance russia's aggression - you are paying more taxes for reconstruction in Ukraine ... My colleagues and I registered the law #7232, that will introduce this simple formula for all foreign companies trying to sit on two chairs - work in Ukraine and do not leave the russian market,” the deputy noted

Zheleznyak explained what changes are planned to be made to the Tax Code when approving the submitted bill:

  • – increased taxation - corporate income tax rates, environmental tax, rent and property tax will increase 1.5 times;

  • – obligation to report that the parent company maintains economic ties with the aggressor state (Ukraine will also monitor and verify this information);

  • – the list of companies operating in russia will be publicly available on the website of the State Tax Service.

"The bill was made in accordance with OECD standards, so we will encourage other countries to adopt similar rules. I expect that today the committee will support the initiative and in the near future the parliament will approve it in the hall", - Zheleznyak added.

He stressed that "it is impossible to leave unpunished companies that use their taxes to finance dozens of planes, thousands of missiles and millions of submachine guns that destroy Ukrainian cities and kill Ukrainians".

It will be recalled that 42 large international companies continue to operate in russia. Most companies are from the USA, France and China.

The French concern Renault is studying the possibility of changing the owner of AvtoVAZ and transferring its 68% stake. Due to sanctions, the company cannot transfer the company's shares to russian Rostech.

The French company Auchan has stated that it does not intend to leave the russian market.
