Russian troops have entered Liman, presumably to seize Severodonetsk and close the pocket near the villages in the Luhansk region.
This was reported on Twitter by the Defence Ministry of Great Britain, citing intelligence reports.
The progress of the Russian forces in the region is reported to be slow but with some success.
"Russia has achieved local successes, by zoned-out forces and fire on a relatively small territory. However, the russian federation is forced to take risks in other areas," the report reads.
Currently, heavy shelling is continuing in Luhansk Region, and street battles are taking place on the outskirts of Severodonetsk.

The intelligence agency noted that the russian federation's political goal is to occupy the entire territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. To achieve this, russia needs to succeed beyond Severodonetsk, including the key city of Kramatorsk and the M04 Dnipro-Donetsk main road.
The units of the russian federation's southern forces groups are likely to be the most successful route, supported by the Central Forces Group, which is coming from the northern part of the country.
We would like to point out that according to the General Staff of the UAF, the enemy was concentrating its forces on seizing Severodonetsk. In the past few days, the Donetsk and Luhansk sectors of the conflict six enemy attacks were defeated with one tank, four artillery systems, nine armoured fighting vehicles, and two enemy vehicles being destroyed .
