The Ukrainian Armed Forces have advanced more than 10 km in the direction of the temporarily occupied city of Melitopol and are already on the edge of Kherson, Melitopol mayor Ivan Fedorov said in a video message on Facebook.
"Our heroic Armed Forces have advanced significantly and are already on the edge of Kherson. I am sure that Kherson will be liberated by our military in the near future. The same situation is in the direction of the city of Melitopol. Our Armed Forces have already advanced more than 10 km from Zaporizhzhya towards Melitopol," Fedorov said.
He urged the city's residents to believe in the Ukrainian Armed Forces and our victory.
Earlier, the mayor said that the occupiers had staged an explosion during the "celebration" of Russia Day in Melitopol.
It was also reported that Melitopol was engulfed in a real guerrilla war, and the Melitopol meat-processing plant was packed to capacity with occupiers' bodies.
