The russian occupiers are proposing introducing the death penalty in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine to intimidate the local population and stop the resistance, said the mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, on a telethon.
He said that a few days ago in Melitopol, a pastor was abducted during a religious service in the central square. At this time there is no information where he is being held.
According to Fedorov, the occupiers are committing genocide against the citizens of Ukraine because they do not have the support of ordinary people or government officials in all temporarily occupied territories.
The occupiers do not stop at kidnapping people. As local resistance grows, the collaborators start talking about introducing the death penalty.
"They want to move to the next stage - the death penalty for our ordinary civilians, who do not resist with weapons but express their opinion that they are not happy with the racists in our temporarily occupied cities. They want to introduce the death penalty to do it publicly and continue to intimidate our people. And this is not just a rumor. This is what gauleiters (comparison with the Nazi political authorities governing districts - translator's note) say in the central media of the rushist federation," Fedorov said.
Residents of Melitopol, temporarily occupied by russians, confirm the presence of Syrian fighters in the town.
