President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has had a telephone conversation with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who announced his resignation today.
Zelenskyy thanked Johnson for supporting Ukraine from the early days of Russia's full-scale invasion and for his leadership in defending our nation's interests in the world.
"All of us took this news (of the resignation - Ed.) with sadness. Not only me, but the entire Ukrainian society, which is very fond of you. My entire office and all Ukrainians are grateful to you for your help. We have no doubt that the support of the UK will continue, but your personal leadership and charisma made it special," Zelenskyy was quoted as saying on his official website.
The sides discussed the situation on the front line, the prospects for Ukrainian-British cooperation, security and political support.
They also touched upon the problem of unblocking of grain exports from Ukrainian ports.
