The State Flag of Ukraine has been officially hoisted in the city of Balakliya, the head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleh Synyehubov, has said on Telegram.
"Balakliya is Ukraine!.. Boys and girls from the Armed Forces, you are creating a new history of free Ukraine, proud of you," he said.
He noted that the flag was hoisted in Balakliya together with the military headed by Ground Troops Commander Gen Oleksandr Syrskyy.
In recent days, the defenders have liberated more than 1,000 sq km of Ukrainian territory from the occupiers. In some directions, Ukrainian troops have penetrated into the enemy defence to a depth of up to 50 km. More than 30 settlements temporarily occupied by the Russians in Kharkiv Region have been liberated or taken under control.
