Today, on 31 October, 12 vessels and 354.5 tons of agricultural products for the countries of Africa, Asia and Europe left the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk and Yuzhnyy. The exports are shipped despite Russia's statements about withdrawal from the agreement.
Among the departed ships is the bulk carrier IKARIA ANGEL with Ukrainian wheat for Ethiopia, which is on the verge of famine. This is the seventh vessel chartered under the World Food Program under the auspices of the UN, said the spokesman of the Odesa RegionMilitary Administration Serhiy Bratchuk on Telegram.
"At the same time, the passage to Ukrainian ports for loading is allowed to four vessels, which the day before passed the inspection of the Joint Coordination Centre with the participation of all parties, including representatives of Russia," he wrote.
Last Saturday, the Russian side suddenly announced its withdrawal from the UN-brokered agreement with Turkey on a humanitarian sea corridor for ships carrying Ukrainian agricultural products. It blocked the movement of 218 vessels.
On 30 October, no ships left the ports of Ukraine, but on 31 October, according to the UN, the passage of 16 ships was agreed upon: 12 outbound and four inbound.
By refusing to participate in the grain deal, which was to be revised in November, Russia continues its food blackmail.
