With today's massive missile attack, Russia tried to exhaust Ukrainian air defence. For this, Russia used aviation from different directions among other things, the head of the Joint Coordination Press Centre of the Defenсe Forces of the South of Ukraine, Natalya Humenyuk, has said, RBC-Ukraine reports.

"Today's missile attack by dispersed enemy forces tried to exhaust the air defence because strategic aviation was used from different directions, and the missile carrier, which was not on duty in the morning, was sent to the sea. That is what we had said before that they can use as many resources as possible at the moment," Humenyuk said.

Today Russian troops fired 76 missiles at Ukraine, 60 of which were destroyed by Ukrainian air defence. Forty missiles were directed at Kyiv alone, but 37 of them were downed.

The Russian attack caused damage to energy system facilities. Blackouts again affected all regions. In Kyiv, there were partial emergency power cuts, disruptions of water supply and heating. Subway traffic was temporarily suspended.
