The energy company Ukrenergo has said that emergency power outages continue in Ukraine, thus denying fake reports to the contrary.
"Fake information is being spread in social networks about the alleged cancellation of emergency power outages with reference to the fake page of our company. This is an attempt to stir up society with false information," the company said in a statement.
It noted that emergency outages are a forced step, which "is used exclusively in case of a deficit to maintain the balance of generation and consumption in the energy system".
"Power engineers will be able to abandon them only after the complete cessation of hostile attacks on our power system," Ukrenergo explained.
It added that they have only one official page on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/npcukrenergo) and Telegram (https://t.me/Ukrenergo).
Ukrenergo called on Ukrainians to report fake pages and stated that "anything else created under our logo in these social networks is fake and Russian IPSO".
