Last night, Russian saboteurs tried to enter Ukraine through Chernihiv Region. Border guards opened fire on them.
Border guards used a thermal imager to detect four people moving from the territory of Russia in the Semenivka community, according to Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.
"The saboteurs were immediately shot at. The enemy retreated under the fire of the border guards. The State Border Guard Service and the Armed Forces of Ukraine deployed reserve units to reinforce this area," he said.
On 21 July, the National Resistance Centre warned of Russian saboteurs being deployed to Bryansk Region, which borders Ukraine's Sumy and Chernihiv regions. At that time, a detachment of the 24th Separate Special Purpose Guards Brigade from Chita arrived in the town of Starodub, Bryansk Region.
