Over 1,000 flats, residential buildings in Kryvyy Rih damaged by Russian strike - Vilkul

A day of mourning was declared in Kryvyy Rih on 1 August.

In total, more than 1,000 flats and residential buildings were damaged by the Russian strike on Kryvyy Rih on 31 July. Also, five medical institutions, 13 educational institutions and one cultural institution were damaged, the chairman of the Defence Council of Kryvyy Rih, Oleksandr Vilkul, has said.

"Part of a 9-storey building where ordinary civilians lived was simply demolished from the 4th to the 8th floor. The building of the educational institution is also heavily damaged," said Vilkul. 

He added six civilians were killed, including a family - a 45-year-old mother and her 10-year-old daughter. Another 75 people were injured. Among them are eight children. There are 22 wounded in the city's hospitals, including two children. Two of the wounded are in serious condition. 

According to Vilkul, a day of mourning was declared in Kryvyy Rih on 1 August.
