The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has summoned Polish Ambassador to Ukraine Bartosz Cichocki because of the statements made by Marcin Przydacz, Secretary of State, Head of the International Policy Bureau.

According to a Facebook post by Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleh Nikolenko, it was pointed out at the meeting statements about the alleged ingratitude of Ukrainians for Poland's assistance were untrue and unacceptable.

"We are convinced that Ukrainian-Polish friendship is much deeper than political expediency. Politics should not call into question the mutual understanding and strength of relationship between our nations. No statements will prevent us from jointly winning peace and building a common European future," added Nikolenko.

Earlier, Przydacz said on Polish TVP that Ukraine had received a lot of support from Poland. And that Ukraine "should start to appreciate the role that Poland has played for Ukraine in recent years".
