Servant of the People party MP Andriy Kholodov has written a letter of resignation, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak has said on Telegram.

Earlier, journalists learned that Kholodov left Ukraine in January and has not returned since. According to journalists, the MP and his family are in Cyprus, where he owns a family estate.

His letter of resignation will be considered at the next meeting of parliament. 

The head of the Servant of the People party, Olena Shulyak, said that Kholodov had been expelled from the party.

"The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine received a statement from Andriy Kholodov on his resignation as a people's deputy. In turn, as the head of the Servant of the People party, I signed an order to expel him from the party," Shulyak said on Facebook.

Since 2005, Kholodov has been a co-owner of the Efkon-Windows plant, which manufactures aluminum products and other metal building structures, including kiosks. In addition, he also owns Favorit-M LLC, registered in Kyiv.

In 2019, he was elected as a Member of Parliament of the 9th convocation from the Servant of the People party. He was listed No 22 on the party’s ticket a non-partisan candidate. He is a member of the same faction. He is a deputy chairman of the committee on finance, taxation and customs policy.
