According to preliminary data from the Ukrainian military, two Russian missiles were fired at Kryvyy Rih from the Dzhankoy area in temporarily occupied Crimea. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his evening address.

"This proves over and over again that for the safety of our cities, for the protection of the normal life of Ukrainians and our children, our military must have enough long-range weapons, enough means to defeat terrorists. The world's sanctions pressure against Russia needs to be stepped up significantly," he said.

He noted that more and more open-source information, including investigations by journalists, is now appearing on how Russia circumvents global sanctions and receives critical components for the production of weapons. And Ukraine has repeatedly provided such information to its partners confidentially.

Zelenskyy noted that it is necessary to significantly strengthen sanctions for terrorism, to block the channels of delivery of critical components for missile production to Russia.

It requires determination to supply Ukraine with the necessary modern weapons, including long-range missiles. In this way, Ukraine will be able to eliminate the terrorist threat that Russia poses against to its people.

More than 1,000 apartments and residential buildings were damaged in the Russian attack on Kryvyy Rih. Five medical institutions, 13 educational institutions and one cultural institution were also damaged.

As a result of the strike, six civilians were killed, including a family - a 45-year-old mother and her 10-year-old daughter. Another 75 people were injured. Among them are eight children. There are 22 wounded in the city's hospitals, including two children. Two of the wounded are in serious condition.

According to Oleksandr Vilkul, a day of mourning was declared in Kryvyy Rih on 1 August.
