Wagner PMC mercenaries are a potential threat and a danger factor that must be taken into account. In particular, it is necessary to prepare countermeasures against the Wagner mercenaries, Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate, has said.

"But in general, of course, this is not a group that poses a real danger today. However, this cannot be taken lightly, and no-one is doing so. All necessary measures are being taken," Yusov said.

He added that the provocations of the Wagner PMC "can be compared to a shot in the foot" because they force, for example, Poland to strengthen its own security and defence sector and pay more attention to the Belarusian border.

Thus, as a result of these actions, Ukraine's readiness to counter various challenges from its NATO and EU allies is only increasing.
