Last night, the Russian army again launched a massive air attack on Ukraine. There was a threat of attacks with missiles and UAVs, the Air Force warned.
The alert for most regions was announced twice: around 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. In Khmelnytskyy Region, explosions were heard during both, the regional military administration reported.
It issued alerts about the explosions at 1:26 a.m. and 4:08 a.m.
"Another series of explosions in Khmelnytskyy Region. Air defence is working!" it said.
Details are being investigated.
Khmelnytskyy Region came under attack from the Russian army on the afternoon of 5 August, when the enemy fired Kinzhal missiles. Air defence systems were working. Russians targeted the airfield again. The RMA reported that the blast wave damaged the roof, doors and windows in several private residential buildings, smashed windows in one of the municipal cultural institutions, the bus station and a commercial building.
During the daytime attack, the Air Force reported that Russia launched missiles from Belarus for the first time in a long time. The Defence Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate suggested that the Russians could have imitated the launch of missiles from there to draw Minsk into the war.
