President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that US President-elect Donald Trump wants to end the war in Ukraine as soon as possible, but it must be done in such a way that Russia does not have the opportunity to start it again.
Zelenskyy said this in an interview with CBN.
"Of course, when the president talks about 24 hours..., this is not a question of solving this in a day... It is very difficult. But it means, I understand his words, that he wants to do it quickly. And it seems to me that it is important that it be done quickly, because we are losing people every day," the President of Ukraine said.
At the same time, he noted that the Ukrainian side is working with Trump's team, but it will be possible to understand the details only after his inauguration.
Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine would find every opportunity to end this war quickly and fairly. He also added that Trump understands that America cannot be weak.
"And this is right, because it will not end with Ukraine. If Ukraine is weak and if the position of the United States is not strong, there will be explosions of war in other parts of the world. And we are talking not only about Europe, where there are high risks, like the Balkans, like the Baltic States, which were once part of the Soviet Union," Zelenskyy said.
