On 17 January, Russia launched two Iskander-M ballistic missiles from the Rostov Region and attacked Ukraine with 50 Shahed attack drones and various types of imitation drones. The attacks originated from five directions: Millerovo, Orel, Bryansk, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force.
As of 09:00, 33 Shaheds and other drones were confirmed to have been shot down in Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Khmelnytskyy, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya, Mykolayiv, and Odesa Regions.
Russian attack drones hit enterprises in Odesa Region. Additionally, debris from downed Russian UAVs damaged buildings belonging to institutions, private businesses, and households in Kharkiv, Cherkasy, and Kyiv Regions.
Nine Russian decoy UAVs were lost locally without causing any damage, and one exited Ukrainian airspace toward Romania.
