DIU: Two Russian fighter jets worth up to $100 million destroyed in special operation

This operation was planned for two weeks.

On the night of 21 December, two — Su-30 and Su-27 — fighter jets were destroyed at a Russian military airfield near Lipetsk. Their value is estimated at up to $100 million.

This was reported by the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU).

“As a result of an operation by the DIU, carried out directly by a representative of the resistance movement against the criminal Russian regime, both of the aggressor’s military aircraft were put out of action,” the intelligence service said.

It added that the estimated total cost of the two destroyed fighter jets, which Russia used in the war against Ukraine, could be up to $100 million.

“The Su-27 and Su-30 with tail numbers ‘12’ and ‘82’ were destroyed thanks to thorough preparation, composure and professionalism,” the DIU said.

Planning of the special operation at the airfield near Lipetsk took two weeks.

The study of patrol routes and guard shift schedules made it possible to secretly penetrate the military facility of the aggressor state, strike the Russian Su-27s directly inside the protective aircraft hangar, and then leave the airfield unhindered.
