During the NATO–Ukraine Forum, Ukraine and Lithuania announced the launch of Brave Lithuania, a joint initiative aimed at supporting defence innovation. The programme will be implemented jointly by the Ministries of Defence of both countries and the Brave1 cluster.

This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yuliya Svyrydenko.

Under the initiative, developers will be able to create and deploy defence technology solutions more rapidly, particularly in the fields of unmanned systems, electronic warfare, artificial intelligence, communications systems and other advanced technologies.

According to her, Ukraine’s defence production capacity has increased fiftyfold since 2022 — from $1 billion to $50 billion.

“Ukraine has unique experience in developing defence technologies in the context of a modern full-scale war. Lithuania is one of our closest partners in the field of security and defence. The integration of our countries’ defence innovation ecosystems opens up new opportunities for joint development,” Svyrydenko noted.

In Ukraine, the programme will be implemented by the Brave1 defence technology cluster.

  • Ukraine and Lithuania also discussed the joint production of drones and the Drone Deal defence projects. Lithuania became the first NATO member state with which Ukraine has concluded such an agreement.
