Maydan Time Machine receives special mention at Sheffield DocFest
Sheffield DocFest is one of the most influential documentary film festivals.

Maydan Time Machine is a film by directors Volodymyr Tykhyy and Roman Lyubov.

The Sheffield DocFest jury praised the film for its inventive and immersive approach.

“Serving as both a testimony and a warning, the film shows that the most significant turning points in history are made up of individual acts of devotion and sacrifice that must be recognised and embraced now,” the jury commented. “The film invites us to recognise our own responsibility in the ongoing struggle for freedom. For its extraordinary vision, masterful use of collective archive footage, and profound exploration of resistance at a defining historical moment.”

The film was produced by the Babylon’13 film collective in co-production with Trimafilm (Germany) and Suspilne (Ukraine). The producer of the film is Andriy Kotlyar.

Sheffield DocFest is the UK’s largest international documentary film festival and is widely regarded as one of the three most influential and prestigious documentary film festivals in the world.
