Today, 21 September, the Russian army attacked several petrol stations in Zhytomyr Region. The first was on the M-06 motorway near Zviahel.
Head of the Regional Military Administration Vitaliy Bunechko wrote about this.
“The enemy continues to strike the network of petrol stations in Zhytomyr Region. This time, a petrol station on the M-06 motorway on the outskirts of Zviahel was hit. The aftermath is being dealt with. Information on casualties and the extent of the damage is being clarified,” he said.
Update. As of 12:45, the aftermath of the Russian strike near Zviahel had been dealt with. Traffic on the M-06 motorway has resumed.
Specialist services are working at the site, containing the fire and ensuring the safe movement of vehicles.
Around noon, the head of the administration reported a strike on a second petrol station, belonging to the WOG network.
“This morning, a second petrol station in Zhytomyr Region’s Zviahel District has come under attack. According to preliminary information, this time a WOG petrol station was damaged. No information on deaths or injuries has been received so far,” he said.

Under a decision by the Kyiv Regional Defence Council, petrol stations in the region will gain access to a special digital air-awareness system used by the Defence Forces.
