The Russian army struck civilian infrastructure in Odesa Region on 22 September. The attack caused a large-scale fire at warehouses.
There were no casualties, Odesa Regional Military Administration head Oleh Kiper said. He added that air quality measurements were carried out due to heavy smoke.
“According to the results, the levels of chemicals and combustion products do not exceed permissible limits. There is no threat to the public,” he said.
This morning, Serhiy Lysak, head of the Odesa City Military Administration, reported that black smoke could be seen over the regional capital following the strike. The attack hit Odesa District.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) reported that rescuers had to fight the fire under the constant threat of further strikes.
