The European Investment Bank intends to provide Ukraine with a loan of 75m euros for road safety, the bank's press service said on Monday, 28 August.
The funds are to be spent on road safety infrastructure in Kyiv, Odesa, Lviv, Dnipro and Kharkiv.
The loan will finance the urban transport infrastructure to improve road safety for motorists, particularly for the most vulnerable road users, meaning pedestrians and cyclists.
The total cost of the project is estimated at 177m euros.
Last year the EIB allocated 200m dollars to Ukraine for the renovation of public transport.
